About

ProfileHi! I am Fr. Steve Kelley, a happy Catholic priest, ordained June 1, 2013. I have begun this blog to publicly share my thoughts and reflections in a forum better suited to longer posts (with more flexibility) than Facebook (my go-to social media site). My posts, words, and actions on this site are my largely my own, and do not necessarily reflect or involve the diocese in which I was ordained and serve, or the parish to which I am assigned. Images are provided by a web search, and credit will be given where known (if you find a picture in my blog for which you have copyright rights, I will credit you or remove the picture).

I am a fan of science-fiction books and movies, and television (not so much television). Also theology and philosophy (not so much philosophy). I attempt golf (usually under a 100, but only slightly), I have a Sunfish sailboat, and a 2018 Subaru Forester (6-speed manual!). I have a Cerveny rose-brass tuba which I play when I get the chance, and a Soviet era helicon (Russian version of a sousaphone) that is presently awaiting restoration. I am also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Image result for industrial fanI’m a HUGE FAN of puns. And in this case, it’s a pun of huge fans.

I am an alumni of Cedar Crest High School, Lebanon, PA (1991), West Chester University of PA, School of Music (1996), and St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, PA (2013 M.Div and STB).

I marched Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps (93-94), Reading Buccaneers (92, 95-00, 02), and Hawthorne Caballeros (01). I arranged and taught music for Lebanon Catholic Marching Band (98-07).

I am part of the Diocese of Harrisburg Formation for the Ministry of Spiritual Direction (for lay spiritual guides), as well as being on the retreat teams for Rachel’s Vineyard retreats and Catholic Engaged Encounter retreats.
